Children's clothing is always $3.
Whatever it is. A child's dress is $3, not $8. A school blazer is $3. Size decides the price, not the type of garment.
If we're unsure, you pay the lower price.
Borderline item? It goes in the cheaper tier. You'll never get a bill that's higher than you expected.
Dresses — $4 or $8?
The difference is structure, not size. An everyday cotton or jersey dress with no lining is $4. Anything lined, pleated, floor-length, or made from silk, satin or chiffon is $8 — those take three or four times as long to press properly.
A few specifics
- Suit jackets and blazers — $8. Lined and structured, so they take the time a large item takes.
- Curtains — by quote. Send us a photo and we'll give you a price before we collect.
- Dry-clean-only labels — we'll press these with care at $8, but heat can affect some fabrics, so it's at your risk. Tell us if you'd rather we left it.
- The $30 minimum is on your order total, not per category. Mix and match freely.
What we don't take
- Anything unwashed. We press, we don't clean — everything comes to us clean and dry.
- Stains and marks. Pressing won't lift them and heat can set them for good. We'll press around it and let you know.
- Leather, suede, vinyl and faux fur.
- Heavily beaded or sequinned pieces — heat melts and cracks them.
- Wedding gowns and heirloom pieces. These deserve a specialist, and we'll happily point you to one.
- Anything already damaged — tears, weak seams, perished elastic. We'll flag it and leave it alone.

How much does an ironing service cost per item in Melbourne?
With Pressed it's a flat rate: $3 per kids' item or school uniform, $4 per everyday item, and $8 for large or delicate items like doona covers and dresses. Pickup and delivery are free within our service area, with a $30 minimum per pickup.
Do I need to wash everything first?
Yes — we're an ironing service, not a laundry, so we don't wash or dry-clean. Send everything clean and dry and we'll do the pressing. It's deliberate: your clothes never leave your own wash routine, so there's no wondering about someone else's detergent, machine or dryer.
Do you pick up and deliver?
Yes — pickup and delivery are included at no extra charge. We collect your items from your door and return them pressed, on hangers or folded.
How long does it take?
Standard turnaround is 48 hours from pickup. If you need something sooner, call us and we'll do our best.
Do you iron school uniforms?
It's our specialty. Kids' clothing and school uniforms are just $3 per item, and most families set up a standing weekly pickup so uniforms are always ready for Monday.
How do I pay?
Whatever is easiest for you: we'll text or email you a secure Square payment link so you can pay online with any card, or you can pay cash on delivery. You'll know the exact total before we arrive because pricing is per item, flat rate.
How do you decide if a dress is $4 or $8?
Structure, not size. An everyday cotton or jersey dress with no lining is $4. Anything lined, pleated, floor-length, or in silk, satin or chiffon is $8, because those genuinely take three or four times as long to press properly. And if we're ever unsure, we charge the lower price — you'll never get a bill bigger than you expected.
Is there anything you won't take?
A few things. We don't take anything unwashed — we press, we don't clean. We can't lift stains, and heat can set them permanently, so we'll press around a mark and tell you. We also leave leather, suede, faux fur, heavily beaded or sequinned pieces, and anything already torn or with perished elastic. Wedding gowns and heirloom pieces deserve a specialist and we'll gladly point you to one. Curtains we're happy to do — send a photo and we'll quote first.
